The Battle of Kohima was the turning point of the Japanese U Go offensive into India in 1944 in the Second World War. It was fought in the heart of Kohima, the present capital city of Nagaland. The battle was fought in three stages from 4 April to 22 June 1944 around the town of Kohima in Nagaland in Northeast India.
